HealthInfoNet Board of Directors Announces Leadership Transition
Devore Culver announces retirement; Shaun Alfreds named Acting CEO
Portland, ME – September 21, 2017. HealthInfoNet’s Board of Directors is announcing that after 11 years of distinguished leadership, Devore Culver is retiring from his position as CEO on October 31, 2017. He will continue to work for HealthInfoNet as a Senior Consultant.
“It has been an incredible honor and a wonderful adventure to develop this company from the ground up. So many across Maine have worked tirelessly to make HealthInfoNet the exceptional resource that it has become supporting health care delivery in our State. Moving into a senior consulting role at this time is a great opportunity to both remain engaged in supporting HealthInfoNet’s continued success while gaining more time to spend with family and to reconnect with my passions for photography and the outdoors.” said Culver.

Shaun Alfreds has been named Acting Chief Executive Officer. Shaun has served as HealthInfoNet’s Chief Operating Officer since 2010 and his vast operational HIE and development experience will assure a smooth transition.
“Shaun’s experience and strengths in the areas of information technology operations, contract negotiation, public sector innovation, and organizational development and finance along with over 15 years industry experience position him to successfully lead HealthInfoNet and bring his vision of interoperability innovation in Maine forward,” said Board Chair David Howes, MD.
“I am honored to take on this new role and know I have big shoes to fill,” said Alfreds, “I am grateful to Dev and to the Board for providing me the opportunity to lead HealthInfoNet in accomplishing its mission in advancing the innovative use of technology and data to support improved patient outcomes and health reform.”
