I am excited to announce HealthInfoNet’s latest Strategic Plan, designed to further advance and integrate Maine’s statewide Health Information Exchange (HIE) throughout our diverse healthcare communities. This plan, effective January 2024 through December 2025, was collaboratively created by our staff, Leadership team, and Board of Directors to set the course for our organization over the next 18 months. During that time, we will continue growing in our role as the state’s leader and partner in health information technology in the aim of empowering improvements in the quality, safety, and delivery of patient care and population health.
Guided by this plan, our efforts will focus on the following priorities:
- Structure the HIE’s Long-Term Public/Private Partnership: Maximize resiliency and mitigate risk as an agile private partner by continuing to strengthen a trusted private/public partnership that demonstrates high value to diverse stakeholders.
- Assure the HIE’s Ongoing Value to Participants: Serve as a trusted partner to our participants in the delivery and effective use of complementary, whole-person (i.e., equitable) health information services and data sets to inform decisions impacting patient care, operations, and strategy.
- Invest in the HIE’s Health Information Services: Apply current and emerging health information interoperability standards to promote tighter integration of the HIE’s services and data sets within participants’ native data systems and workflows.
Every 18 months when we review our prior strategies and set our sights on new objectives, I am impressed by the commitment of the individuals who work to develop our Strategic Plan. But to move it forward, we will need your help. We will require continued engagement and deeper partnerships with those who share our vision of improving the health, wellness, and wellbeing of our neighbors, friends, and family members – regardless of their medical conditions, their social circumstances, or their abilities to pay for services. As we form teams around our objectives, there will be opportunities to contribute your passions to helping us realize them.
Without the continued work by our participants, providers, and partners in furthering their own goals of building equitable and accessible care, we wouldn’t be able to do the same at HealthInfoNet. Thank you for your dedication.
