HealthInfoNet is nearing completion on connectivity with the PointClickCare cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) system. The system is used by the majority of the state’s long-term care facilities participating in the Office of MaineCare Services’ Medicare Advantage Dual-Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) network. Noteworthy D-SNP facilities using PointClickCare that will soon be sharing data with the statewide Health Information Exchange (HIE) include Continuum Health Services, First Atlantic Health Care, National Healthcare Associates, Pinnacle Health and Rehabilitation, Covenant Health, and MaineHealth. Beginning this spring, HealthInfoNet will begin receiving these facilities’ admission, discharge, and transfer (ADT) information via PointClickCare’s JSON API-based message interfaces.
Nationally, PointClickCare is used as the choice EHR system by more than 25,000 long-term post-acute care providers and over 2,700 hospitals, enabling care collaboration and value-based care delivery for over 195 million lives across the U.S. The company’s cloud-based platform offers an end-to-end toolset with integrated solutions for care delivery, care coordination, business intelligence, and financial performance functions. With our upcoming connection, HealthInfoNet will become the latest HIE in the country to connect to the EHR system for improved data exchange and interoperability use cases. As new PointClickCare organizations located in Maine join the HIE network, their data will seamlessly flow to the HIE’s suite of health information services through this centralized hub-and-spoke model.
